Kelvin Plastic Private Limited: An industrial site in Rajkot to observe manufacturing and quality control.

Target Audience: 30 students from the 5th and 7th semesters of the Degree Mechanical Engineering program.

Key Highlights:

BIS Office Session: Students were introduced to the "Standards Club" initiative. They learned about the importance of the ISI mark, how to check the authenticity of products using the BIS CARE mobile app, and the role of the National Standards Body of India in nurturing quality awareness.

Industrial Visit: At Kelvin Plastic Pvt. Ltd., students observed the production of plastic pipes and the rigorous testing procedures required to maintain quality standards.

Outcomes: Students gained a practical understanding of industrial quality protocols, the standardisation process, and how a National Standards Body operates.

Theme: "Means and Ways to Reduce Pollution."

Activities:

Sustainable Transportation: All staff members and students were encouraged to use eco-friendly transport methods such as cycling, walking, vehicle sharing (car/bike pooling), or public transportation.

Competitions: The institute organized a Poster Painting Competition and a Quiz Competition for students to raise awareness about pollution control.

Purpose: To celebrate National Pollution Control Day by encouraging practical lifestyle changes and creative expression regarding environmental protection.

Coordination: The event was coordinated by the IIC members and supported by the faculty and students of SLTIET.

Organization: The camp was organized by Shri Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLTIET) in collaboration with the Shrimad Rajchandra Seva Group.

Context: The event was held as part of celebrating Sadbhavna Day under the broader Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Purpose: The objective was to support the Rajkot Civil Hospital by providing free blood for Thalassemia-affected children, as well as cancer and kidney patients.

Activity: * The institute received support from Mr. Vinay Jasani, a social activist dedicated to blood donation awareness.

A medical team of doctors from the Civil Hospital Rajkot conducted the collection.

Outcome: A total of 52 bottles of blood were donated by the students and staff of SLTIET.

Theme & Dress Code: The celebration focused on "Prakruti Vandan" (Worshipping Nature), and the designated dress code for the event was Green.

Guest of Honor: Mr. Baraiya from the Charity Commissioner Office, Rajkot, joined the campus for the activity.

Core Activity: * Staff and students gathered to take a pledge (Sankalp) to save and nurture natural resources.

Participants took an oath to avoid wasting non-renewable resources and to maximize the use of renewable energy.

Principal Dr. B.M. Ramani opened the event by discussing the importance of nature and the environment in daily life.

Purpose: To instill a sense of environmental responsibility and sustainability among the students and faculty.

Key Guests & Speakers: * ASI Manveerbhai Chavda: Discussed the upcoming 'Cyber Suraksha Kavach' (a special cell for cyber crime detection) and the 'Digital Skills Academy' to be initiated by the state Home Department for training and certification.

Dr. Bharat Ramani (Principal): Spoke about the global threat of cyberattacks, including cyber espionage, cyber terrorism, and social engineering. He emphasized the need for responsible behavior online.

Tirthan Kiyada (Student): Explained the ideas and technical reasons behind various types of cyberattacks.

Participants: More than 50 students participated in the event.

Purpose: To call upon stakeholders to make the internet a safer place, especially for young people, and to provide guidance on mitigating security risks through awareness.

Organization: The event was organized by Shri Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLTIET) as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Date: It took place on April 22, 2022.

Expert Guest: Mr. Bhaveshbhai Trivedi from the GEER Foundation, Gandhinagar, was present to spread awareness about the importance of protecting the environment.

Core Task: Students were tasked with planting native seeds (such as Drum sticks, Garmalo, and Goras Ambali) into recycled waste materials like milk pouches and plastic bottles.

Participants: Approximately 90 students from the Degree Engineering program participated.

Key Highlights: * The college introduced its first Green Policy to the students and social media.

The ECO club coordinator demonstrated the reuse of plastic waste for gardening.

Principal Dr. Bharat M. Ramani delivered a speech to motivate the students toward environmental conservation.

Follow-up: Students were required to submit weekly photographs of their plant's growth to earn marks in their Environmental Science mid-semester examination

Guests: The event featured Mr. Vinay Jasani, a well-known social activist from the Shrimad Rajchandra Seva Group, who shared his experiences and spread awareness about the necessity of blood donation.

Outcome: A medical team from the PDU Civil Hospital collected 22 bottles of blood donated by the students and staff of SLTIET.

Recognition: Principal Dr. Bharat Ramani and Trustee Dr. Alpana Trivedi congratulated the participants on the achievement.

Organization: The event was held at the SLTIET Campus in Rajkot as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (75th Year of Independence) celebrations.

Date and Time: It took place on September 15, 2021, starting from 11:30 A.M.

Participants: A total of 16 students from four different engineering branches registered for the competitions.

Activities:

Speech Competition: Students spoke on topics such as the Role of Engineers in Nation Building, The takeover of Afghanistan, and Dominance of China on Asian Countries.

Slogan Competition: Topics included Women Empowerment, India in Olympics, and Ethics in the life of Engineers.

Winners: One winner was declared for the speech competition, and two students were named as winners/runners-up for the slogan competition.

Coordination & Management: * Coordinators: Prof. Shweta Mehta and Prof. Shreya Sanghavi.

Registration/Organization: Prof. Himanshu Chaturvedi and Prof. Shreya Doshi.

Mentors: Prof. Komal Upadhyay and Ms. Hetal Trivedi.

Organization: The event was held at the SLTIET Campus as a cultural event under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.

Theme: The event served as a "Welcoming of Freshers with Navratri Celebration." Traditional outfits were compulsory for all participants.

Participants: Almost 250 students participated in the festivities.

Activities & Competition:

The festival was celebrated with traditional Garba and music.

A competition was organized with categories including Well Dressed (Girl and Boy), Prince, and Princess.

Jury Members: The competition was judged by Ms. Dhruti Rajyguru and Mrs. Charmy Patel.

Purpose: To celebrate the cultural enthusiasm of Gujarat and welcome new students to the institute.

Organization: The workshop was organized by Shri Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLTIET), Rajkot, in association with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC).

Expert Speaker: The session was delivered by Dr. Anamik Shah, former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith, Ahmedabad, and a distinguished researcher who has guided over 70 PhD students.

Additional Speaker: Dr. Ramesh Bhayani, Project Director at O.V. Sheth Lokvigyan Kendra, Rajkot, also spoke briefly about the importance of science and innovation.

Global Statistics: Statistical data regarding patents filed globally versus those filed by Indians.

Educational Barriers: Barriers and loopholes in the Indian research and education system.

Procedure: A step-by-step guide on the procedure for filing a patent and identifying the best areas for receiving a patent quickly.

Legal & Ethics: Key elements to consider before filing and case studies regarding financial disputes and unethical practices in patent breaching.

Outcomes: Participants gained wisdom on the patent process, and Dr. Bhayani ensured support from Lokvigyan Kendra for future innovative projects and lab requirements.

Context: The event was organized at the SLTIET Campus in Rajkot on October 2, 2021, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

Participants: Over 100 students along with staff members participated in the event.

Activity Details: * Participants gathered at various city locations such as Mavdi Village and Love Temple on Kalawad Road.

The event included a 1.5 km warm-up walk followed by a 2 km competitive run.

The run was divided into two zones with starting points at Kankot and Mavdi Police Station, both ending at the SLTIET Campus.

Logistics: Volunteers were stationed along the routes and at the finish line to record timings. Medical teams were also appointed for safety precautions.

Coordination: The event was successfully coordinated by Sports In-charge Ghanshyamsinh Zala and Prof. Jeet Mehta.

Organization: The event was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of Shri Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLTIET), Rajkot.

Resource Person: The session was conducted by Mr. Mayank R. Pandya, a Software Engineer from Khodiyar CAD Center Pvt. Ltd.

Target Audience: 26 students from the 3rd, 6th, and 8th semesters of the Degree program attended.

Purpose: The session aimed to make students aware of ongoing trends in the IT industry and explore the latest platforms running in the market.

Topics Covered:

Concepts and principles of Python technology used in real-world projects.

Foundational knowledge of Python for students starting as freshers.

Fundamentals of Python compared to other programming languages.

Outcomes: Students learned about various library concepts and were prepared to work as prudent Python developers.

Coordination: The event was coordinated by Prof. Jalpesh Ghumaliya (HOD) and Prof. Ankit Koyani.

Organization: The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Department of Shri Labhubhai Trivedi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLTIET), Rajkot.Date and Time: It took place on April 20, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M..Resource Person: The talk was delivered by Mr. Keyur Vanpariya, an alumnus and current Planning Assistant in the Town Planning and Valuation Department of the Government of Gujarat.Target Audience: A total of 63 students from the 4th and 6th semesters of both the Degree and Diploma programs attended.Topics Covered:The core intention of town planning is to meet future generations' needs and manage growth.Key principles discussed included zoning, green belts, housing, public buildings, recreation centers, road systems, and transport facilities.The session also covered government views on residential building principles and the implementation process for passing plans through local authorities.Outcomes: Students were trained on civil engineering drawing symbols, building bylaws, and regulations considering green building aspects.Coordination: The event was coordinated by Prof. Sagar Vasoya, and Prof. Vinod Panchal (Head of the Civil Department) expressed gratitude to the speaker.
