The Founder Trustee Late Labhubhai Trivedi (GURU) dedicated whole of his life for the development & proper management of the educational programmes of the trust. He was a moving spirit behind the ever developing activities of the trust. Shri Labhubhai Trivedi rendered his Yeoman services to the trust till his last. He was a social worker, real educationist with the last version, - a visionary – benefactor, & devoted his entire life for education not only in Saurashtra but in entire Gujarat as well. Education was his forte. He presided over the destiny of hundreds of students. He was founder of many social, educational, cultural and religious institutions in Saurashtra and managed them very efficiently and successfully. He contributed a lot in the development of Universities in Gujarat and Saurashtra. He was appointed as the Pro-vice chancellor of the Saurashtra University for two consequent terms. During his life he held many positions of responsibility and successfully attended. He was a real benefactor, Patron, supporter, friend, philosopher and guide of the academic world.

During the era of 1960s for about one and half decades as a young leader, he also managed the administrative affairs of Municipal Corporation of Rajkot. It was during his tenure that a lot of development took place in Rajkot. The road map of bright future was prepared under his leadership. He envisioned the city of Rajkot having planned roads, trade centres, schools, proper sanitation, cultural centres etc. and at the same time ensured a systematic development for future.

He had the ability to make people work. He was willing to do anything for the welfare of people and was ready to sacrifice anything for the sake of his compatriots. He was a visionary for the welfare of others. The leadership of Shri Labhubhai Trivedi enlightened and revitalize life of many who came in his contact. He devoted his whole life for the welfare of people. To commemorate his sweet memories and for his gratification , the trustees of MGCT have resolved to commence an Institution of his liking SLTIET in the city with a purpose of imparting real technical knowledge to the economically challenged and middle class students.

He was influenced by the thoughts of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhans and Mahatma Gandhi which directed him to do a lot for the upliftment of the backward class. We pay our homage and salute to the Great Soul of Shri Labhubhai Trivedi. We pray that coming generations keep drawing inspiration from his life.
