CNC MACHINING LAB

CNC stands for Computerized Numerical Control which facilitates the tooling operations for more precision and ease in the manufacturing process. This is one of the simplest technologies available in the area of machining but an effective one that can assist greatly in the production process. By this lab students will practically learn the concepts behind the CNC machining and fabricate a fully functional 3 axis CNC machine that uses programming to perform functions like drilling, milling, and cutting. Students will also learn the concepts behind it and use the G-codes to operate the tool. This will be an ideal for students if they want to get experienced in machining and its working principles.

REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING LAB

RAC (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) is one of the most important contributions of Mechanical Engineering to the present day civilization. The lab has state of the art facilities for providing the hands-on experience to the students. Knowledge of domestic refrigerators and its various components, concepts of cooling and heating systems.

CAD LAB

Computer Aided Drafting is taught using common software like AutoCAD, Solid Edge, Creo etc. used by 1St year (All branches) & Mechanical in general. Here, students love to spend hours together practicing these high end softwares in labs.

CENTRAL WORKSHOP

We have the state of the art facilities in central workshop having machine shop, Engine Lathe, Center Lathe, Carpentry shop. Fitting shop. Foundry, Fabrication shop, Welding Shop. Students have the facility to complete their projects in the workshop for manufacturing and assembling of parts.

THEORY OF MACHINES LAB

Objectives of this lab are to impart practical knowledge on design and analysis of mechanisms for the specified type of motion in a machine. With the study of rigid bodies motions and forces for the transmission systems, machine kinematics and dynamics can be well understood. Demonstration exercises are provided with wide varieties of transmission element models to understand machine kinematics. Various experiments with governors, gyroscopes, balancing machines and universal vibration facilities are available to understand machine dynamics.

FLUID MECHANICS AND HYDROLIC MACHINE LAB

This lab has basic fluid mechanics set-up. The lab is equipped with different flow measuring set-ups such as venturimeter, orifice-plate, pitot tube, rotometer, Reynolds setup, free-forced vortices setup, flow over open channel and impact of jet set-up etc., where students can visualize the basic theory of working of the flow meter. The lab also has Kaplan turbine, Francis turbine, reciprocating compressor & Centrifugal pump setup etc., where students can visualize the basic theory of working.
